Dear Friend:
St. Charles Episcopal
Church is a Christian community.
Like
any community, ours is made up of individuals committed to working together
for the enrichment of our common life. We call ourselves Christian because
we view our community as a basic framework through which we struggle to
make sense out of our daily lives and our relationship to the world around
us. We believe that the essence of that struggle is inherently bound up
in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that being
a Christian means living life openly and honestly -- and that takes a unique
kind of strength and courage.
At St. Charles we use
the symbol of the river to represent the community that we are. The river,
representative of the Fox River near which we are located, always flows
onward. The river is a symbol of our lives and our faith journeys; it is
a symbol of our baptisms, by which we are all made one in Christ.
Participation is the key
to the fullness of life at St. Charles. Participation gives us a role,
a stake, and an investment in the ongoing life of the community. This place
exists because people like you are willing to give, to volunteer, to serve.
Our Liturgical Ministries,
Outreach Ministries, and Spiritual Growth, Education and Fellowship are
some of our services to God.
Every one of these services
has its demands -- some are light, others are heavy. If you offer your
talents and gifts to God, know that every offering is appreciated and needed
by our parish.
